Spring Break 09

Back home is South Dakota for a much needed week of relaxing and family. Here is a shot of the beautiful, wide-open prairie that we took yesterday. If the weather cooperates we will be headed to the Black Hills in the next couple days. Hopefully we'll be home in a week, rejuvenated and ready to get back to the work.

Project!

We're very excited to be a part of the Mumbreeze paint it yourself paper mache project. We just received these awesome little sculptures in the mail yesterday and can't wait to figure out how we are are going to paint them. They might have a little flock in their future too. Kinya and Kao of Mumbreeze are collecting images of their sculptures that have been painted by other artists to promote their blank, un-painted paper mache figures that they sell in their etsy shop. I don't think the pictures do the sculptures justice. We really like them and want to thank Kinya and Kao for asking us to be a part of their project.

Direction

Here they are! We're pretty excited about how they turned out. This print series is a spin off from stacie's small arrow paintings and inspired primarily from the directional wind flow on weather maps. They are printed on pink lemonade french paper with deep red, gunmetal, and blue ink. Although they are a series, we definitely think they can stand alone. If you like them and would like one for your home, you can purchase one or all three in our etsy shop. Have a great weekend.

Spring Colors

Here are the brilliant, new flock colors for our mini deer. The citrus orange deer mount is already up in our etsy shop and the lemon yellow and baby blue will be posted very soon. Also, the "this way" prints are almost done too--one more to go!

smells good

I love Fridays, especially when I come home to the house smelling like fresh-baked bread, a new issue of DWELL, and a little mail package filled with inspirational treasures. Johnny is the baker and my friend Angie, an artist who lives in San Diego, is the one who sent me the packaged inspiration. She and I are collaborating on a monthly mailing of items that we gather in order to inspire each other. We try not to spend much money, but other than that there are really no other restrictions. It's been great so far and a nice change to get good mail.

Easy like a Sunday Morning

1. Surprise present in the mail from Johnny's little brother--xoxo.

2. This is how much coffee Johnny needs in the morning before he's human.

3. My new 5 year diary. I will write 5 things that I am thankful for everyday for 5 years.
