Mr. and Mrs.......

Here are a few photos from our wedding taken by an excellent photographer--katefunk. You can check out her website at www.katefunk.com. The wedding day was absolutely beautiful. The weather was perfect that day and the full moon reflected down on the river to top off a sweet summer night. We were both a little apprehesive to have a wedding with lots of people; but looking back, I think we would both say that it definitely wouldn't have been the same without all of our friends and family there. We had a blast and we're now getting back into the grove of things, but still enjoying our honeymoon stage. If you want to see our other photos, check out our flickr site.

Rocking Birthday Gift!

Have not blogged anything for quite a while. However, I did want to share my beautiful birthday present!! This is a rescued Charles and Ray Eames RAR rocking chair originally designed for Herman Miller. I say rescued because the original shell was found at a retro shop and was covered with fabric of some sort. I'm in love with the organic shape and clean, simple form. I also enjoy the contrast of materials used. Plus, it rocks!! The shell is a great neutral color and it is the original 1950's fiberglass mold, which I much prefer to the newer, plastic shells that you can get currently. Anyway, this ranks as one of the best birthday gifts ever because of the combination of beautiful design, function, and timelessness. Thank you Johnny!

THRIFT STORE FIND

Look I bought an Eames side chair for 5 bucks!! OK OK its not a REAL Eames chair but with a few coats of spray paint it looks pretty damn good. Now I have to find a shell arm rocker, thats going to be a bit harder I think.

We know that all of our faithful blog readers have been anxiously awaiting a new post from us....so here it is. We really like to imagine that we have all of these giddy blog groupies waiting in the wings and checking their computers about every half hour to see what inspiring thought or image we have posted. Today is a cause for celebration though because we sold our first print on ETSY (hooray!!). Thank you to Samantha, a woman with impeccable taste, for purchasing one of Johnny's "Beef, its whats Ballooning" screen prints. You rock!
So whats is store for this blog and johnnyandstacie? Well, we would like to use this blog as a way to let people know what we are working on and what we currently fancy. With that, I promise to become more fluid with my blogging in the future or at least shorter and sweeter. Oh yeah....the above painting is a newer painting of mine that I posted because it reminds me of today--simple and fresh with a bit of the unexpected. Check ya later peeps.
